How to use this calculator
Enter a date of birth and sex; the calculator returns both the State Pension Age (in years and months) and the calendar date on which the State Pension is first claimable.

Sex is required because, for people born before 6 December 1953, men and women had different timetables (men were on 65; women were on either flat 60 or the gradual 60→65 equalisation under the Pensions Act 1995). After 6 December 1953 the schedule is sex-neutral.

Schedule sourced from the Pensions Acts 1995, 2011 and 2014. Most recent legislated rises (to 67 and 68) are subject to periodic review under PA 2014 s.27 and may be amended; the current legislated position is encoded here.
